 I would love to say that I have the time to whip up amazing meals each night. There are a few problems with that thought. For one, I am not the best cook in the world, and secondly, I just don’t have a lot of time. I remember my grandmother would spend most of her day in the kitchen, and that was something that she seemed to enjoy. For me, however, it is just not possible. Instead, I look for great and interesting meal ideas that I can make fast. That means that the 30 minute meals you can find are some of the best options for me.

I was never sure how I felt about Rachel Ray, but I love her 30 minute meals. Not only are they pretty easy, they are also meals that is not the ordinary fare that I give my family all of the time. We get stuck in a rut sometimes with the same meals over and over, and that is mostly because they are tried and true favorites. Many of the 30 minute meals are so easy that someone like me can do them. I have make many mistakes in the kitchen, and I think it has to do with my short attention span. However, if you can plan your 30 minute meals ahead of time (a week or two ahead) you can get all of your shopping done without worrying about being out of or missing something essential.

Moving to the city has been one of the best experiences of my life. I feel like I have really grown as an individual and it has been extremely nice to get to know people who’s fundamental beliefs are different than mine. Even though it is drastically different than what I am use to I feel like the overall experience has been great and I know that it has caused me to become a better person. The thing I love the most about living in the city is the wide variety of restaurant selections being so conveniently located to everything. When I get a craving for Chinese food it’s nice to know that I can walk two minutes up the road and have five different varieties of Chinese food. Ultimately, I see myself living back in the small town were I grew up but I feel that this time of trying something new will really expand the way I look at eh world around me and I know that will make me a better person. Just yesterday I was looking online for some fresh ideas of things to try and I stumbled across direct tv and I know this is something else I can try. Instead of just going out to dinner for our anniversary this year, my husband and I decided to do something that we hadn't done in a long time. We decided to fix dinner together. I miss back in the old days before we had kids when we would work together on fixing a half-way decent meal. Hamburger Pie Recipe

This recipe is an American favorite. We love hamburgers, so making a pie out of our favorite meat sandwich is a winning idea. To give this recipe a richer flavor, you can substitute 1 can of mushroom soup for 1 can of tomato soup.

Ingredients:
4 potatoes
1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 (10.75 oz.) cans condensed tomato soup
1 (15 oz.) can green beans, drained
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Peel and quarter the potatoes and put into boiling water; cook for 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain and mash. Set aside.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium high heat until the beef is brown; drain. Stir in the tomato soup and green beans.

Pour mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Mound the mashed potatoes around the meat mixture (do not cover meat). Sprinkle cheese on top of the potatoes.

Bake for 30 minutes, or until potatoes are golden.

The official chocolate martini recipe endorsed by Godiva is as follows:
Godiva Chocolate Martini
1 oz. Godiva Chocolate Cream Liqueur
1 oz. Ciroc Vodka
Shake until blended and pour into a chilled Martini glass.

Beef Pot Pie Recipe Homemade

Ingredients:

1 pound sirloin steak, cubed
Salt and pepper to taste
1 (14 oz.) can beef broth
3 large carrots, cubed
1 cup frozen green peas, thawed
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/3 cup water
2 (9-inch) refrigerator pie crusts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a saucepan over medium high heat, brown the pieces of meat on all sides. Pour in enough water to almost cover the meat. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer meat until it falls apart easily (about 2 to 3 hours). Place meat in a large bowl. Slightly shred the meat and season with salt and pepper to taste.

In a 2-quart saucepan, combine the beef broth, carrots and potatoes. Cook over medium high heat until almost tender (about 15 to 20 minutes).

When the carrots and potatoes are done, transfer to a large mixing bowl and combine with the beef. Reserve the liquid in the saucepan. Mix the peas in with the vegetables and beef.

Dissolve the cornstarch in 1/3 cup of water and pour this into the reserved beef broth. Bring to a simmer while stirring constantly; reduce heat. Cook for 5 minutes.

Line a 9-inch pie plate with one of the pie shells following package directions. Spoon the beef mixture into the pie crust. Pour the gravy on top. Cover with remaining pie crust.

Bake for 25 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

When I go to the trouble of cooking, I'll cook things that will go a long way. Sometimes I cook way too much just so that I can have leftovers for a few days. Yeah, it's a little lazy, but it's also really practical. I'm always on the lookout for a new and good recipe that I can make that will yield a lot of leftovers.

I originally did want some chili, but I found some other things that sounded so great that I totally abandoned my chili idea. I decided on making some kind of stew instead because those keep really well for leftovers too.
